In K-4 we did a celery experiment to see the veins of the plant.  My students had a blast guessing what color the celery would change into.  My classroom might have smelled like a hamsters cage for a little while, but it was worth it to see the kiddos excitement each morning. 

We also grew grass seed in cups that the students drew faces on.  Its the cheap chia pet! They also used scissors to "cut the hair" after it grew.  They had a blast with that!
