Kyle and I are big dumpster divers for furniture.... NYC is a great place to pick up new pieces of furniture!  Kyle left our house in Milwaukee for a run, and came back with this great find.  I can't wait to fix-it up this summer and use it in our "sunroom" porch.

Kyle and I went up to Madison for a concert and got lunch at the Nitty Gritty with my little brother!  We tried Brat Soup for the first time and it was amazing!!!  Here is a pic of Kyle's lunch, YUM

In K-4 we did a celery experiment to see the veins of the plant.  My students had a blast guessing what color the celery would change into.  My classroom might have smelled like a hamsters cage for a little while, but it was worth it to see the kiddos excitement each morning. 

We also grew grass seed in cups that the students drew faces on.  Its the cheap chia pet! They also used scissors to "cut the hair" after it grew.  They had a blast with that!

Kyle and I have been busy building a small retaining wall for our front flower bed.  The previous owners had rocks, a rock border and some shrubs.  We took out all the rocks, built the wall, and put in soil, coco shells and some new shrubs.  I LOVE the new curb appeal....yes I just said curb appeal :)  I love HGTV!

Our school did a talent show this year, here are some of the ballet dancers from my class.  Their performance was adorable!!

April 26th was my little brother John's Golden birthday!  We got together with the whole family to eat at Churro's Mexican Restaurant.  Check out the candles on the birthday sundae's!

I love an hour glass timer in the classroom.  It serves so many purposes for example: when kids need help taking turns and sharing they know when its time to switch and then on the other side of the spectrum its great for time outs (its a great visual)
